Home Again: First Week Back After My Cruise Contract

Hi guys,

I’m officially back home after finishing my latest contract at sea. It feels really good to say that — and to be writing this from home instead of the ship!

First of all, I want to apologise for the lack of blog posts while I was away. I had so many issues trying to connect to the Wi-Fi onboard that uploading anything became almost impossible. As you may have noticed, I’ve managed to publish one post from the trip, but unfortunately that’s all I was able to get online while I was away.

I arrived back at Heathrow on the 28th at around 10:30pm and then caught the coach home from there. It was a long travel day, but it felt so nice knowing I was finally heading home.

When I got back that evening, I met up with my friend Sarah for a quick drink and a catch-up, which was the perfect way to ease back into normal life.

On Sunday I went out for a lovely Sunday lunch with my mum and dad, two of my sisters, and two of my nephews. It was so nice to spend some time together and catch up properly after being away.

My first week back has been quite a relaxed one. I’ve met up with a few friends for coffee and just taken things slowly while settling back into life at home. Although I wasn’t planning on working this week, I did end up covering a few shifts at the pub for people, which was actually quite nice and helped me get back into a routine.

So that’s my latest little update — a glimpse into what life looks like when returning home after a contract at sea.

Here’s to living joyfully,

Jodie ✨
