🌿 My Journey to Joyful

If you’ve ever felt like life is a balancing act — between work, health, and chasing your dreams — you’re not alone. My journey hasn’t been straightforward, but it’s taught me so much about resilience, self-care, and finding joy in unexpected places.

For those who don’t know me yet, my name is Jodie, and I work at sea on cruise ships. ⚓ While it sounds glamorous (and often is!), it also comes with its own challenges: long hours, limited food choices, unpredictable routines, and being away from loved ones for months at a time.

In recent years, while working abroad (not always on cruise ships), I faced several challenges. These challenges began to affect my health and wellbeing. I realised I couldn’t wait for “someday” to take care of myself. I had to start where I was, even in the middle of the ocean. 🌊

That’s when Journey to Joyful Living began — not as a brand, but as a personal mission. I started focusing on:

Making healthier choices one day at a time 🌱

Finding creative outlets that kept me grounded 🎨

Creating planners and tools to help me stay organised ✏️

Allowing myself grace on the hard days 💜

It hasn’t been perfect (and I don’t think it’s meant to be). Slowly, I’ve built habits and mindsets. These help me feel more like myself whether I’m on board or back at home.

This blog is my way of sharing that journey with you. I hope it inspires you to start (or continue) your own path toward living a life that feels joyful, sustainable, and true to you.
